About the Event Organizers
AddieTellsAll, Co-organizer
Robyn, a pediatric nurse practitioner, and her daughter, Addie, are food allergy advocates behind the @AddieTellsAll platform. Addie is the namesake of SB 68 ADDE, and this mother-daughter duo co-sponsored California's landmark allergen labeling law. Their story, starting with a Mother's Day dumpling dinner, drove the community momentum that helped pass the ADDE Act. Learn more on their website.
Their Story
My name is Addie, and I have food allergies.
For kids with food allergies, eating out can feel overwhelming. We have to be careful about everything on the table, and sometimes that means missing out on birthday parties, family dinners, and traditions most people take for granted. But, one Mother's Day, I ate dumplings at a restaurant for the very first time. My mom started crying tears of joy. It was the first time I could safely eat a meal like that at a restaurant.
That moment grew into something bigger. Together with my mom, our community, Senator Menjivar, and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, we helped pass SB 68, the ADDE Act.
This event brings families together to celebrate that progress and to launch what comes next.
Your support helps kids like me feel safer when we eat out, and helps more families find their own version of that dumpling on Mother's Day.
Together, we can help everyone "dine allergy safe."

Their Story
The Moment That Sparked Change.
A flight over the Atlantic Ocean changed everything for us. A mislabeled food item containing an undeclared allergen was served to a loved one with food allergies. An ordinary snack for most, but it could have had devastating consequences.
We had read the labels, asked the flight attendant questions, and trusted the answer. But it was wrong. At 30,000 feet, far from land, there is no room for mistakes. With the help of a physician on board, we fortunately made it through. But the shock and urgency of that moment stayed with us long after we landed.
That moment led us to create FoodSage, a youth-led organization dedicated to food allergy advocacy. It reminded us how much families rely on accurate allergen information, whether on a plane, at a restaurant, at school, or at a celebration. Every detail matters, and even small mistakes can change or even cost lives.
We are thrilled about the passage of the ADDE Bill (SB 68), which requires large restaurant chains in California to clearly disclose common allergens on their menus and helps families trust what they eat.
To celebrate this milestone and continue building a safer future, we are organizing a food allergy awareness walk at the Capitol.
